It is too late too clean one's backyard after years of dirtying it. All the hogwash about his son leaving the business, wanting to have a clean finance minister, cleaning up the electoral lists is all but nonsense.

His image is gone. When I talk to people on the street, they say he is a man who has lost his honour.

He cannot be believed anymore. Where there was once admiration for him now it is just disgust and fed-up feelings of his rhetoric.

The man is trying to clean up the mess now when he should have been more humble and honest to put things right from the beginning.

You can cheat some of the people all the time or some sometimes but not all the people all the time. The 'dictator' (he said it himself sometimes one has to be a little bit of a dictator to run the country) may have to resort to desperate measures to clean up all the sordid things of the past. I hope he has enough time to do it before he is removed.
