I read A Wong's letter 'Too early to abolish ISA' (June 8) with much interest. While I agree that racial integration in this country is still fragile due to many ill-implemented policies, we do have a judiciary that is supposed to be free and fair.

So why then should we subject ourselves to be detained without a free and fair trial? This can and probably have led to abuses.

It's time to put a stop to this. After all, isn't there a provision for the police to detain anyone for a few days before producing evidence to substantiate their detention or to prolong the length of the detention?
