I read with disgust that Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has declared that the majority of the people supported the ISA. If indeed this is true, let him prove it by way of a referendum so that the voice of the people could be heard. Would he then initiate and support a bill in Parliament to abolish the ISA on good faith?

As long as the ruling government has a two-thirds majority in Parliament, I doubt if at all this could materialise. I guess this is the price we have to pay for choosing the wrong representatives.
