When the multiracial opposition is uniting cohesively against you, what do you do? You harp on racial issues or spark off racial debates in the hope sooner or later there will be a fall-out amongst the opposition.

Hence the endless stream of racially contentious issues brought up by our beleaguered prime minister. The latest being a seemingly innocuous statement on bumiputras not interested in filling their university quotas which have sparked off a racially latent furore with an ominous potential to turn uglier. Rest assured the slave-like mainstream media will exploit this issue to the hilt as desired by their political master.

The various races have reached a new high in unity in their common disdain of this man. Do we now dance to his tune and throw our oneness of resolve to the wind? Or do we regroup with wisdom and maturity and sidestep the booby trap set in our path?

Mature-thinking bumiputras will support high performing non-bumiputra students to be given a chance to pursue their studies. As will mature thinking non-bumiputras continue to support the rationale and need for bumiputra quotas in higher studies.

To liberally extend a Malay proverb, now that someone with ill intent has introduced a mosquito in our mosquito net, do we now jointly burn the net with such childish joy and alacrity?

Wake up, dear Malaysians, the choice is ours to make.
