HF is trying his best to convince us that PAS is capable of forming the government on its own and will eventually go on to change the constitution for an Islamic state. This is sheer nonsense if you examine the number of seats PAS contests in, i.e. 63 parliamentary seats in the last election.

Even if they were to win every seat they contested in, they would have 63 out of a total of 193. To amend the constitution for an Islamic state they would need to have at least 128 seats to form a two-thirds majority. If Keadilan wins 30 seats, PRM eight and DAP 40, only then the opposition front can have the two-thirds majority of 128.

The rest of the seats will go to Sabah and Sarawak parties and what's left of Umno, MCA, MIC and Gerakan.

Please explain how PAS can convince DAP, Keadilan and PRM to vote for an Islamic state.

As a non-Muslim I would not want an Islamic state and neither do many other Muslims I know. Based on my assessment, I doubt if there are more than 10 percent Muslims who really want an Islamic state.

But we would want the universal values of which Islam is a party to, to be the guiding light of the new government of Malaysia.
