Just a note to say syabas to Susan Loone for unearthing the truth about the statue issue ('Craftily crafting statue misquotes', May 17). Though judging from the one letter you published yesterday not everyone is convinced ('Ploy or not, there's no denying PAS' goals', May 18), that at least puts paid to the MCA sandiwara (charade) of playing back recordings.

Now I wonder what is on that tape that makes the mainstream reporters still convinced of the MCA's claims.

And if it is simply a matter of checking the Hansard, then one also wonders why the mainstream reporters - who have offices in Kuantan - never bothered to check before they published their stories.

Truly, there are too many conspiracies around these days.
