Sarawak Sports and Agriculture Assistant Minister Dublin Unting Ingkot is still in a coma following a stroke on Thursday after he gave a radio interview in Kuching.
Unting, 55, underwent a three-hour surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain but had yet to regain consciousness, according to a New Straits Times report today.
According to Unting’s wife, Froline Moriah Demies, doctors were keeping him under 48-hour observation and had told her that she had “nothing to worry about”.
Currently, Unting is being warnded at the Normah Specialist Medical Centre intensive care unit.
Sukma chef-de-mission
He had reportedly fainted in the radio studio after an interview with the Iban radio station wai.FM on the preparations by the state Sukma team.
He was supposed to be the chef-de-mission for the state contingent which is expected to leave for the games in Terengganu next week.
Unting, who is Batang Ai assemblyperson, is currently serving his second term as an assistant minister and is also the vice-president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak.
