Superb results due to dropping standards?
It is really illogical especially since the number of high achievers (those with straight As) have doubled or tripled just in a few years. Not to mention the trouble the Education Ministry had managed to get itsefl into from reducing five subjects in STPM to four. What a joke it is, just so that the students can cope with the additional MUET (Malaysian University English Test), which is nothing compared with the GCE O-Level 1119. Now we have 362 students scoring four As, each demanding those high-flying courses, but of course not all will get what they want because of the quota system.
Bringing STPM back to five subjects (with a maximum score of five As) is the only solution as this standard has worked well in the past. Why would the ministry resort to reducing the number of subjects anyway?
In the end, everyone demands for the same piece of cake from the Education Ministry and the result is total havoc!
