Police are awaiting directives from the Attorney General's office to take further action on a case involving a former minister alleged to have molested a woman in Kuala Lumpur last month.
The alleged incident took place in a five-star hotel near the KLSentral station.
A Bernama report quoted Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Muhammad Sabtu Osman as saying that police had completed their investigations and the investigation papers on the case had been submitted to the AG's office.
Up to AG's office
"We have taken statements from the victim and the former minister as well as a few witnesses. It is now up to the AG's office to pursue the case," he told reporters after an anti-drug operation in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city this morning.
On the operation, conducted at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Imbi and Jalan Raja Laut, Muhammad Sabtu said 213 people were arrested for offences, including drug abuse, prostitution and immigration offences.
He said 315 policemen and immigration officers were involved in the operation which began yesterday and ended today.
