After all the outrage and arrests, the turnout at the so-called Black 14 gathering can be concluded as dismal. Maybe they have run out of money to hire the illegal Indonesian workers to join the gathering.

Let's face it, the true strength of the Barisan Alternatif (BA) is PAS. Without the PAS supporters, BA is doomed to fail.

Keadilan and Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) is of the strength of a party nyamuk (mosquito) only, no matter how loud their leaders shout.

With the arrest of the trouble-makers and opportunists, the next step the government should take is to make some compromise in some main issues.

By seeking a compromise with the Dong Zhong in the aspect of Chinese school education and by taking a more people-oriented approach or the 'Lee Lam Thye' approach, the lost ground will be recovered in no time.

All the people want is to have regular access to their respective representative in the parliament or state government. They want to meet and talk to them.

They are more concerned about issues of flooding, their livelihood needs and a place to seek help and encouragement when they face problems.

This is what the government should concentrate its effort on in its quest to regain the support of the people that it has lost.

Most Malaysian still believe in the Barisan Nasional (BN) government. They are just angry or "merajuk" that the government has put too much effort on big projects and has neglected their basic needs.

Once the government makes the necessary changes, their anger will subside and the support will be back.

As for the BA, do continue your daydreaming and play-acting, for this is what you are good at.
