Dr Pratap Singh in his letter ([#1]Cowardly, shameful act[/#], April 12) says that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is using the Internal Security Act (ISA) against the reformists to stop the opposition from obtaining more Malay support.

Did the writer check the total number of Umno members to date? Yes we may have decreased a little, but we still outnumber the combined total of PAS and Keadilan members.

As for likening these Keadilan supporters who are attempting to topple the government to a bunch of boy scouts and girl guides toppling a well-oiled police and army force - are the members involved just "boy scouts" and "girl guides"? There are ex-members of the armed forces in PAS and Keadilan; doesn't that count?

So next time, before anyone speaks out against anything, check the facts first.

The writer described ISA as a colonial law. I think as long as it is very effective (which it is), who cares whether it is a colonial legacy or not? Who cares as long as we can still run our businesses peacefully and not worry about our kids in school and still have our teh tarik at the mamak stall at 2am or 3am?

If these traitors of our beloved nation are allowed to roam free and go on with their cause of fighting for so-called freedom and hak rakyat, can I still have my teh tarik and not worry about my kids in school?

Think carefully, people; these are seven traitors who are all out to take what is most precious to us - freedom and peace of mind.
