Time and again, I have written many letters (published or unpublished) alluding to malaysiakini in particular, to pave way for more columns of interfaith dialogue. Unfortunately, it seems very "arrogant" and turns a deaf ear to my hearty advice.

Again, both the letters by Steve Oh (Outdated, dehumanizing practice, April 6) and Abu Kassim (Muslims should be proud of Islam, April 10) evident the demarcation of different faith which haunt us Malaysians and the world at large.

I am an ardent supporter and participant of all sorts of interfaith dialogue organized by any groups (even by politicians) since ten years ago. I truly believe that real peace can only be achieved by making all religious groups, who emphasise so much on love but fail to materialize it when confronted by non-believers' voices, to mingle, mix, share and empathize each other beliefs.

Hence, when I came to know about the monthly interfaith activity organized by Insaf (Interfaith Spiritual Fellowship) I was overjoyed. Though the leaders of Insaf have to start all over from scratch and crawling like a baby, but their spirit of love captivates me so much.

People like Dr Amir Farid, Mother A Mangalam, Dr K Sri Dhammananda Nayaka, Goh Chooi Chin, Vijaya Samarawickrama and some others, who I cannot recall off hand, are all the leaders and speakers who are really full of care and love but unfortunately, lack the skill of publicity. Thus failing to attract more people to join their activities.

I still remember how Dr Amir , in an interfaith dialogue had called a spade a spade, that special privileges for the Malays is against the teachings of Islam, the writings of Mother Mangalam on the teachings of Hinduism which is so critical about the prevailing practice of idol worship and the speech made by Dr Dhammananda who regards the association with people of other faiths has helped him to improve his understanding of other faiths and more so of "the teachings of the Buddha".

All these are people committed to manifest the true meaning of love by words and in life, to be emulated by all Malaysians. They are all genuine "beauty" like Mother Theresa if not as lovely as her.

So can the editors, news reporters, staff, writers and viewers of malaysiakini afford to miss the golden opportunity to witness, with your own eyes and ears, such a breath-taking pulchritude?

Malaysiakini does not hesitate anymore. Your news, articles and letters have, after all, succeeded in winning over the hearts and the minds of the more educated people in Malaysia in the face of the competition of the other news media.

Now, it is high time for you to do some soul searching (for being too secular in mind set) and invite the viewers and writers to ponder the reasons as to why we, Malaysians, must delve more into the spirituality via more understanding of the "others".
