The Star reported on Ahmad Said accepting his appointment as the new Terengganu menteri besar and at the same time facing the sack from Umno.
New Straits Times also highlighted the MB crisis in Terengganu and stated that the prime minister stood by his choice of Idris Jusoh as the state chief.
The newspaper also headlined that the Attorney General will seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to clarify facts and the legal and constitutional aspects of the appointment of Terengganu MB.

Berita Harian stated Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmda Badawi has regarded the appointment of new Terengganu Menteri Besar, Ahmad Said as going against the constitution.
Utusan Malaysia headlined that 23 state assemblypersons stood by their decision to support Jertih MP Idris Jusoh as Terengganu MB in a meeting with the prime minister.
Both newspapers stated that Ahmad Said will face the possibility of being sacked from Umno if he received the appointment.
Tamil newspapers
Tamil Nesan reported that the Selangor MIC gave its full support for party president S Samy Vellu. This was in light of several veteran party leaders from the state urging the president to step down.
Makkal Osai reported that the new Perak state government might not have an Indian as its second menteri besar.
