Malaysiakini's readers and mainstay must be closet conspiracy theorists going by two recent poll results: Beserah state assembly representative Fauzi Abdul Rahman's expos on former Pahang mentri besar Khalil Yaakob's alleged abuse of power - [#1]to be investigated by an independent inquiry[/#] (not ACA nor Umno, of course); and the Kg Medan incident - [#2]due to political manipulation[/#].

What's next?

As per the norm, your letters column are filled with readers sounding off as angry young Malaysians. One thing for sure - the more badmouthing of a person is done, the more the said person thrives.

So what if Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was not elected by the majority? ([#3]Dr M not majority's leader by choice[/#], April 6) Is there any single leader who is elected on a majority? Majority of one is still very much a majority, isn't it, going by the US polls?

Maybe that should be the next poll - who should be PM. Let's have it that Malaysians at large can nominate a name each and work from there. Then hold the poll.

I'm betting that a popular opposition figure and a certain deposed ex-deputy prime minister will be high among the malaysiakini list, merits notwithstanding.

Prove me wrong.
