New Straits Times headlined that Bintong assemblyman Dr Md Isa Sabu will be sworn in as the new Perlis Menteri Besar today at Istana Arau in Perlis.

The Star wrote that all outstanding issues over the formation of the new cabinet and the swearing in of MBs will be settled tomorrow. It also featured a picture of Force India driver Giancarlo Fisichella crashing out of the Australian Grand Prix

The Sun led that Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will announce a smaller cabinet filled with fresh faces by tomorrow.

Chinese newspapers

Sin Chew Daily reported DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang expressing his party’s willingness to co-operate with PAS if the latter was willing to abandoned its "Islamic State" ideology.

Nanyang Siang Pau reported that Prime Minister Abdullah would announce a relatively smaller cabinet tomorrow.

Oriental Daily highlighted DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng’s support for the return of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim to Parliament.

Tamil newspapers

The Tamil dailies - Tamil Nesan, Malaysia Nanban and Makkal Osai all highlighted the possibility of Abdullah’s cabinet being smaller and filled by new faces. The dailies also speculated who among the MIC leaders would be appointed to which posts.

Bahasa Malaysia newspapers

Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia both headlined that Abdullah will announce a smaller cabinet tomorrow and that Md Isa will be sworn in today.

Utusan also wrote that Jerlun MP Mukhriz Mahathir continues to be lambasted over his letter asking for Abdullah to resign.

New Straits Times wrote that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was facing repercussions from his announcement that the New Economic Policy will be abolished in the state.
