I believe readers are intelligent enough to come to their own conclusions with regard to issues raised here, based on the basic points laid by the presenters, such as those found in the letter by A Serving Umno Youth Bureau Member who I think did a good job supporting his views with facts and valid personal experience ([#1]The other side of the Mahafiraun II[/#], March 28).

However, another reader's criticism of the writer unfortunately offered no new information. Hence, my question: Are we arguing only for the sake of arguing (without justifying whether the arguments would be constructive to the masses or just a waste of someone else's time)?

Organise the points, at least, and lead the readers to the conclusion; don't just slam someone else's views without giving alternative ideas.

Sadly enough though, that seems to be the trend now in the Letters section here. Maybe because Malaysians never had any chance to voice out their opinions 'loud' enough before, that's why some of us are rather excited with a platform such as malaysiakini.

However, can we please stop arguing just for the sake of arguing?
