I wish to express what many Sarawakian bumiputra hope to see raised in the coming state elections. Lim Kit Siang is widely respected in Sarawak. His press statements are widely followed and I must say even though the DAP candidates in Sarawak are mostly Chinese, bumiputra voters helped in many instances to make the difference in the popular vote for DAP.

While the issues brought up so far are appropriate and relevant, I wonder whether our more pressing issues could be given some serious attention. The native customary rights land issues should be covered in detail as not only bumiputra landowners are affected, even the investors have been badly cheated.

I hope this simple letter is able to express the great hopes that the majority bumiputra voters are placing on Kit Siang's capabilities and sincerity.
