Anwar Ibrahim's recent appeal to be operated overseas has opened our eyes to the character of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

When Dr M needed to undergo a heart bypass operation back in the 1980s, he chose a Malaysian (a Malay doctor!) to carry out the task and in Malaysia, too. He did not ask to be operated in some 'more famous and more equipped' foreign 'specialist hospital'. He was willing to put his life under the care of his fellow countrymen, because he had faith in Malaysians' capability. Indeed, he is worthy to be our leader.

Anwar, on the other hand, having no faith in Malaysia's hospital and Malaysian doctors, is now asking to go overseas to undergo a so-called critical back operation. His action has shown that he is a sham, when he 'preached' about 'loving' and 'caring' for Malaysians (especially the Malays) and Malaysia. He doesn't even trust his own people's ability, choosing to trust in a foreigner instead. I am sure there are many Malaysian doctors who are equal or even more capable than this so-called 'specialist'!

If he so desires to go overseas to put up a show, then I urge the Malaysian government to let him go. Let all Malaysians know his true character. Let them know how he looked down on our ability and chose to trust in a stranger instead. If he doesn't come back, it would be better still, for he is not worthy to lead Malaysia!
