As a Malaysian who has performed the Hajj this year, I must state that some of us have been taken for a ride by Tabung Haji.

There have been instances of about 29 people in one room, spread out on mattresses on the floor. Not only were they located miles away from the main mosque, their lodging conditions and food were equally bad.

The experiences vary from state to state and group to group. Some people got to enjoy better facilities, but at the same price. Some top government officials and even an ex-minister got to enjoy the best that the house had to offer.

Just how many officials have been enjoying such free rides? I wonder whether their Hajj was valid?
