"Now that Time Engineering Bhd's debts have been fully restructured and Time dotCom Bhd is listed on the KLSE main board, Tan Sri Halim Saad is expected to step down as TimedotCom managing director," according to an article in The Star entitled, 'Halim expected to step down as Time dotCom MD'.

More like Time dotCon, if you ask me.

Is there no limit to the fountain of fortune endowed to this man?

Examine the sequence of events for most part of his (shy) public life; he smooches with the well-connected, is awarded the prime-cut portions of this country's infrastructure projects with legally-bound revenue guarantees from the awardee (which is none other than our one and only beloved ' Malaysia Boleh! ' government), his contract bids on public projects are tender exempt, banks used to beg to lend him money, when it all came tumbling down provisions were made for breathing space and now at the end of it all, he's deftly able to shift his overpriced/undersubscribed company liabilities back to the public. Now that's what I call debt restructuring at it's best. David Copperfield would have to dig deep into his bag of tricks to beat that one.

The Star article goes on to say, "According to sources, he is heading for United Engineers (M) Bhd (UEM), where he already is the executive vice-chairman." Now imagine a board meeting at UEM, it convenes and the first agenda is debt, and boy do they have a lot of it. One glance around the board room should reveal who the culprit is, and so how do they go on discussing this issue? Moving on quickly to agenda 2,...

When I grow up, I want to be Halim Saad.
