The fast-moving events of the past few months should act as a wake up call for all Malaysians. Initially, we hear of the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister's Department handing out mega-projects to under-capitalised companies with hardly any experience in the privatisation projects they applied for. Their only qualification is that the people involved are either cronies or nominees of the prominent cabinet ministers in the government.

Now that some of these privatised projects have failed, billions of ringgit of taxpayers' money is being poured into these companies to bail them out. As if squandering the taxpayers' money is not enough, we now hear of the rakyat's hard-earned old age savings in the Employees Provident Fund being squandered as well.

Fellow Malaysians, let us all stand up and show the 'powers that be' that we have had enough of their nonsense. Malaysians should declare war on corruption. For the sake of our future generations, we must act now or our beloved Malaysia might end up like one of those unfortunate African countries.

In this aspect, it is time for Barisan Alternatiff to lead the way by exposing the parasites who have been squandering and siphoning off our hard-earned money. Do not just blow hot air over the issue. Expose the corrupt leaders with facts and figures and bring them to shame.

Barisan Alternatif, if you ever hope of forming the next government, stand up now and show us Malaysians that we can depend on you to do the needful in our hour of need. Stop squabbling among yourselves like small kids and get your act right. Show us that you are made of better stuff than Barisan Nasional so as to give us the confidence to vote for you in the next election.
