The malaysiakini editorial team should stop wasting valuable time responding to people like former news editor Chong Yen Long and Deputy Premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. While Chong may have "fundamental differences" with malaysiakini and Abdullah has a political political career to take care of, malaysiakini has a vital job to do, that is to give us the news that matters.

Personally, I don't care, if some of the funds to which malaysiakini had access can be traced, through labyrinthine networks and business deals, to Soros. After all, we live in a global economy, and chances are that if we look hard and long enough, we can trace some of our much-sought-after foreign direct investments (FDI) to Soros.

For malaysiakini, the only real question that needs to answered is whether its editorial integrity has been compromised in any way, because of the source of whatever funds it has received. Maybe Chong can put aside some of his fundamental differences with malaysiakini and tell us in what way he was pressured to compromise his integrity during his stint in malaysiakini. If he can't, let him forever hold his peace.

To the staff at malaysiakini all I have to say is, keep up the good work. By its fruits you shall know the tree.
