Should we thank an inefficient employee?

After reading Shaifull's [#1]Tiadakah rasa bersyukur kepada pemimpin?[/#] (March 5) and Mus Tika's [#2]Membenci kerajaan bagai merosakkan diri[/#] (March 5), I have some thoughts of mine to share with my fellow Malaysians, including the above two.
First, we, you and I, are the employers of our government. Dr Mahathir Mohamad is our employee, he works for us, receives salary from our tax money.
If your employee does well on his or her job, he or she should certainly be appreciated. But what if your house was burglarised because your employee used a inferior lock on the door? Yes, the employee has managed to replace most of the items stolen, but fails to get a better lock for the door to prevent that from happening again? Do you still want to hire him or her, should you thank him or her?
Second, the Barisan Nasional government should be the one to bersyukur (be grateful) for the forgiveness and support from 54 percent of Malaysians. Still, it should not disappoint the rest of the 46 percent of us who voted for Barisan Alternatif. Remember, Mahathir's salary is not contributed by 54 percent of us, but by all 100 percent of us.
Third, loving your country doesn't mean you have to 'love' the government. Your country is your 'family', but the government is just your 'servant', which can be replaced at your discretion.
I am unhappy with our government, not because I 'hate' my country. I am unhappy with our government because the government has messed up the country I love so much.
Fourth, democracy does not mean 'the right of the majority to bully the minority'. While the party with majority votes can form the government, just because 54 percent of us voted for BN does not mean the rest of us should shut up and wait for the next election. Yes, we cannot change the government now, but why can't we even 'beg' for something from our 'employee'.
I am not a businessman, and I do not have an MBA. But I do know what I should do to my employee if he or she failed to keep my property safe, and barked at me that "you should be thankful!" when I begged him or her to do something for me. What do you do to such employee, be thankful to him or her?
