All English papers, Star, The Sun and New Straits Times continue to highlight proceedings at Day 3 of the inquiry into the VK Lingam tape, where the highlight of the inquiry yesterday was the leak of a highly-confidential letter on judicial appointments.

On the lighter side of the ongoing inquiry, Star front-paged a picture story that T-shirts carrying the wordings ‘Lingam was speaking to me!’ was selling like hot cakes in town.

Malay newspapers

Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian also highlighted the leak of the confidential letters relating to the judicial appointments at the Lingam tape inquiry.

Berita Harian also said 200,000 students who defaulted repayments to the government’s PTPTN student loans will not be allowed to leave the country.

Tamil newspapers

Makkal Osai reported on the bomb blasts in Sri Lanka which had killed 26 people. The daily also reported that a 15-year-boy was allegedly pushed from the third floor of his school in Puchong.

Tamil Nesan reported that more people were being investigated over the killing of Johor MIC deputy chief S Krishnasamy.
