Every time the government needs money to fund its megaprojects, it unashamedly dips into the coffers of the Employees Provident Fund ([#1]Explain 'unrealised' losses, EPF told[/#], Feb 27).

The so-called 'guardians' of the workers' interests on the EPF's board may seem like a pathetic lot, but then again, they should not be blamed for they are government appointees and like the rest of us, they need to 'cari makan' (make a living) too.

In a couple of years to come, I shall retire. I am praying every day that my money in EPF will be there when it's time for me to collect my hard-earned 'blood, sweat and tears' money.

Please, let's pray together because only divine intervention will save the day.
