BN retains Kinabatangan, Lamag
BN has won both the Kinabatangan and Lamag by-elections, according to official results.
Naim Kurniawan Moktar, who succeeded his father Bung Moktar Radin as Kinabatangan MP, won with 75.1 percent of the vote - or 19,852 ballots - in a three-cornered fight against Warisan and an independent candidate.

In 2022, Bung won the seat with 57.4 percent of votes and 16,842 ballots in a straight fight against Warisan. This time, Warisan only bagged 21 percent of the vote.
For the Lamag state seat, BN candidate Ismail Ayob won with 82.1 percent of the vote, or 7,269 ballots, in a straight fight against Warisan supreme council member Mazliwati Abdul Malek.
Ismail was the runner-up in the seat during last November's election, when he ran as an independent, losing to Bung by just 153 votes in a six-cornered fight that also featured Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Perikatan Nasional.
The numbers by which he won indicated that those who supported him and Bung joined forces at the ballot box today.
Warisan performed better in Lamag this time around, bagging 1,588 votes (17.9 percent) compared to just 373 (3.7 percent) last November.
The increased vote share suggests that some GRS supporters may have preferred Warisan to BN.
The twin by-elections were called following Bung’s death on Dec 5 last year.
