Businessperson Albert Tei, who was responsible for recording Sabah leaders allegedly discussing bribes, has found a new passion that also involves recording videos.

Donning a copy of MACC orange lockup attire, Tei recently launched his YouTube channel “Albert Tei Reformati” - which takes a dig at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's reformasi campaign.
As of today, the channel has published six video clips since Jan 12 and garnered over 2,900 subscribers.
Based on his first clip, it is understood that the channel was Tei's response to MACC’s handling of his whistleblowing on the Sabah politicians.
Tei said he had bought the MACC garb online "to disappoint Anwar and MACC chief Azam Baki" over the agency's raid on his residence last November.
"Today is day 46 after a gun was pointed at my family and me, and the day the MACC persecuted me by having me don this attire.
"I bought this shirt from Shopee because I believe that Anwar and Azam were very happy when they saw me wearing this orange shirt while in handcuffs.
"They have done me wrong by trying to shut my mouth so that I will stop exposing corruption (involving individuals) linked to them. They think they could scare me with such a tactic, but they have actually failed to intimidate me," he said.
Malaysiakini has reached out to the Prime Minister's Office and the MACC headquarters for comments on Tei’s channel and criticisms against them.
Corruption scandal
Tei was a central figure in the Sabah mining scandal, where he had released a series of video recordings that implicated at least 15 politicians and state leaders in alleged corruption.
However, the authorities have pressed charges on only two of them and Tei, despite the businessperson requesting protection as a whistleblower.
On Nov 28, MACC operatives in full tactical gear - including bulletproof vests and balaclavas - raided Tei’s house and put him in handcuffs before escorting him into an unmarked black sedan.
Last month, Tei was also charged with giving bribes to Anwar’s former senior political aide, Shamsul Iskandar Akin. The latter was charged with receiving bribes from the businessperson.
Both were charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Dec 4 and in the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Dec 5.
