Defamation suit: Teresa, Akmal fail to reach settlement, trial set for Feb 12

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok’s defamation suit against Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh will proceed to trial after mediation efforts failed to result in an amicable settlement.

Lawyer Sankara Nair, representing Kok, said both parties were unable to reach an out-of-court settlement during the mediation session conducted before deputy registrar Suzana Mokhtar at the Malacca Court Mediation Centre today.

This is over Umno Youth chief's alleged insulting remarks against Seputeh MP.
