That's good to know for you and the many people that wrote in praising the effects of caning on them during their young 'naughty ' days. I have seen many opposite. Where the cane was used cruelly and inflict unjust pain on pupils that the teachers didn't bother to investigate or was just well....mental issue. The pupil was caned until his legs bleed and the only thing was the teacher just disappear for a while ( she had the misfortune of the HM catcthing sight of the pupil's injury). After that, return to teach pupils. No one reported it and the pupil came from a poor family in those days and probably suck it up in silence. I disagree that corporal punishment should be brought in the way that the old timers fantasised. Times have changed. Teachers now are NOT like their teachers then. In fact , it breed resentment and aggression against authorities further.
