I recall that The Borneo Post was boycotted for years by government agencies in Sarawak. Their sin was publishing an article from a reader slamming a BN parliamentarian for economic regression which resulted in the MP losing the election. This winnows the fact that the dissented views were outnumbered by a ratio of 5:1 in favour of BN.

I am certain that the local press is a one-party press in a multi-party country. Their credibility is marred in propagating half-truths, falsehoods and lies for the ruling BN party. While Malaysiakini's reportage and other blogs seem to be flooded by opposition views, does it makes Malaysiakini an opposition-funded or controlled alternative media? Absolutely not.

When my friends asked me which political parties I am voting for, I replied that I am voting for the "right" party, one that is earnest to redress the unending scandals in our country. Congratulations to Malaysiakini on your 8th anniversary for your intrepidity and impartiality.
