I was made to believe that the Barisan Bertindak Melayu (BBM) meeting was supposed to be "apolitical" and was supposed to "unite" the Malays. This was stressed vehemently by the organisers to attract the attendance of the Malays from all parties.

However, when the police told them that the application for permit to gather was rejected, the reply by organiser Jamaludin Abu Bakar was, "Persiapan telah dibuat 100 peratus, sekiranya pembangkang boleh mengadakan perhimpunan tanpa permit, mengapa kita tidak (boleh menganjurkan perhimpunan ini)" ([#1]Perhimpunan Melayu BBM tanpa permit: Polis[/#], Feb 2).

Is he above the law? And may I remind him that when the opposition nearly had a rally, they were dispersed forcefully by the police. I'd like to see that happen here.

This clearly shows that this is more of an Umno rally since he stresses that the pembangkang (opposition) can organised rallies without permits, so he must be representing the other side; which is the government.

I am a Malay and I think it is proper that the Bumiputra rights are maintained. But upholding Malay rights is just a facade for this dangerous gathering. I personally would not go and listen to these people. Please, if you want Malay support, there are better and smarter ways of doing it.

The Malays are united, just not united under the (dangerous) kris banner. And by the way, if I'm Chinese or Indian, I'd be scared to vote Umno now. Well done.
