The Anwar Ibrahim administration has extended Azam Baki's term as MACC chief for another year.
This is the third time that Anwar's government has extended Azam's tenure past mandatory retirement.
This time, however, not everyone on the government's side is happy with the decision.

Pakatan Harapan chief Anwar Ibrahim appears hopeful he can still get both BN and GRS to partner with his coalition in the upcoming Sabah polls.
The problem is that while BN and GRS both want to be with Harapan, they don't want to be with each other.
BN had already struck a deal with Harapan to team up - seemingly signalling that GRS would be left out.
GRS chief Hajiji Noor - whose government has been dogged by a prolonged corruption scandal that Azam Baki is accused of dragging his feet on - had also signalled a preparedness to go solo.
However, Anwar said a tripartite alliance was needed for political stability.

Anwar hopes for 'friendly' PKR polls
PKR president Anwar Ibrahim is hopeful that the PKR party elections will be a friendly fight between "loyal friends".
Anwar has won the party presidency unchallenged for a third and final term.
All eyes will be on the PKR deputy president race between Nurul Izzah Anwar and Rafizi Ramli.
Rafizi's rival, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, decided not to contest for any party posts.
