      91.3pct Rawang residents oppose incinerator project - EIA

      The environmental impact assessment (EIA) on the Sultan Idris Shah (SIS) Green Energy Plant found that 91.3 percent of respondents surveyed in 2025 either opposed or strongly opposed the proposed waste-to-energy incinerator project in Rawang, Selangor.

      This is a major shift from earlier survey in 2023, which found that more than half (52.6 percent) of the residents there had initially approved of the project.
