Why not disband Umno and join Bersatu instead, asks Muhyiddin

Muhyiddin also reminded the club’s secretary, Mustapha Yaakub, that Bersatu has more MPs than Umno.
“...I know the person who suggested this, Mustapha is an old friend.
“He said (Bersatu should) disband and join Umno. It’s not that simple.
“Why don’t you disband Umno instead and join Bersatu?” he told reporters after launching a Bersatu office in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan earlier today.
The former prime minister was asked to comment on a statement by Mustapha yesterday, where the Umno veteran sarcastically suggested to Bersatu leaders to dissolve the party and join Umno.
This comes after Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin expressed the party’s readiness to cooperate with Umno.
‘We rule the north’
Muhyiddin also touted the fact that Bersatu has more lawmakers compared to Umno.
“We are not Umno. And secondly, we are a registered organisation, and by numbers, we have more MPs than Umno. We also have many state assemblypersons.
“Together with us in Perikatan Nasional is PAS, and all the northern states are under the control of PN,” Muhyiddin said.
However, PN only has control over two northern states, namely Kedah and Perlis. Penang, meanwhile, is under Harapan administration while Perak is led by a BN-Harapan coalition government.
Adding further, Muhyiddin, who is Pagoh MP, also chided Umno for cooperating with its arch-nemesis, DAP, in the federal coalition government.
He said Bersatu has never compromised the party’s principles, suggesting that Umno did by working together with DAP.
