A poster, which is understood to have been erected for the upcoming Ayer Kuning polls, features Tapah PN chief Abd Muhaimin Malek with his arm around the shoulders of an elderly man.
Slogans promoting Muhaimin's candidacy was also included on the poster.
However, the man's wife claimed that he was not informed about the opposition coalition's decision to utilise his photo.
According to a police report lodged at the Temoh police station yesterday, the wife said her husband also holds a position within the Temoh Stesen BN district polling centre.
She noted that the family was only made aware of the material when the child of a friend alerted them, prompting her to file the police report.
Questions over credentials
The allegation is the latest hit against Muhaimin, who recently courted controversy over claims of him misleading Perak religious authorities to obtain his credentials (tauliah) to teach and preach Islam.
The candidate has yet to clear the air over the accusations, instead telling reporters that PN will provide answers "if the time comes".
Perak Amanah chairperson Asmuni Awi had earlier raised concerns over allegations that Muhaimin had deceived state religious authorities to obtain credentials to become an ustaz.
Ayer Kuning voters are set to head to the polls on April 26, with Muhaimin part of a three-cornered battle for the Perak state seat under the Tapah parliamentary constituency.
He will be going against PSM deputy secretary-general Bawani KS and Tapah Umno secretary Yusri Bakir.
