What is it with Prim's pro-tem secretary general P Uthayakumar? He wants to play politics yet he talks like any social worker. His goals for wanting a party that is part of the Barisan Alternatif is "to voice the people's grievances and raise issues such as abuses of the police, government atrocities, corruption and mismanagement" ([#1]BN admission policy irrelevant: Pandithan[/#], Jan 19). Yet he shows no understanding of the absence of one characteristic in BA that Barisan Nasional is absolutely based on. Yet admittedly his proposed party is one that fits more with BN thinking.

Does he not know that BA is made up of parties that are not racist in character? They are religious or cause-based parties. Prim is focused more on matters of the Indian communities only. It may just find a place in BN where parties exist for each of the different races.

What is even sadder is that the highest he aspires for a "political party" that he leads is only "to voice the people's grievances..." I would have imagined anyone wanting to start a political party would one day be able to lead the country!

I think the BA leaders should enlighten Uthayakumar what a misfit PRIM would be in BA and advise him to help perpetuate the outdated racist thinking by joining BN.
