'Give Rafizi easy path': Anwar backs his PKR deputy for another term

The prime minister apparently made the remark while delivering a speech at Selangor PKR’s annual general meeting yesterday.
No contest proposal
On Feb 1, PKR international bureau chairperson Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin was reported as saying that the party may not open the party president and deputy president’s posts for contests.
He said the proposal was based on internal discussions and feedback from previous consultations within the party.
“The goal is to maintain internal party stability and improve service to the public, especially with the next general election approaching in about two years.
“There is no official party decision preventing a contest, but among the leadership, we hold discussions as we prioritise more important agendas,” he said.
Earlier today, PKR vice-president Amirudin Shari also said he would defend his current post despite claiming there were suggestions for him to contest for the deputy presidency.
