Scammers have hacked Kelantan Menteri Besar Nassuruddin Daud’s WhatsApp account in an attempt to solicit money from the people.
Kelantan State Government Information Secretariat confirmed the matter in a Facebook post last night.
“The Kelantan menteri besar’s WhatsApp has been compromised. Please ignore any messages requesting donations,” the secretariat stated.
The post also included screenshots of fraudulent messages sent by the hacker, who asked a recipient to transfer RM3,000 to a Maybank account under the name Nusyahirah Zulkefle.
Nassuruddin also urged the public to disregard any messages sent under his name.
“My special officer has lodged a police report with the Commercial Crime Investigation Division at the Kota Bharu District Police Headquarters regarding the hacked WhatsApp account,” he wrote on Facebook.
The PAS leader advised anyone who had transferred money to the mule account to file a police report immediately.
“Eradicating commercial crime is a shared responsibility,” he added.
