A positive message has appeared on Najib Abdul Razak’s Facebook page stating that the former prime minister has made progress with the Court of Appeal decision today.
“Thank God, today we take one step forward,” the posting said.
This came after the Court of Appeal granted Najib's appeal this afternoon to commence a judicial review at the High Court to compel the government to enforce an alleged decree by the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong granting Najib house arrest.
A letter from the Pahang palace was submitted to the court, which confirmed that the addendum was real.
Najib, as an inmate, is not supposed to have access to social media.
At the time of the posting, the former Umno president was in the dock for the continuation of his 1MDB corruption trial.
Najib’s family thankful
When met outside the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, Najib’s son Nazifuddin said there were no comments from the former premier over the court decision.
“He didn’t make any comments,” he said.
However, Nazifuddin expressed his family’s gratitude for the court decision.
They also thanked all those who showed up to support Najib outside the court.
“We are very touched, even though there were many challenges, many supporters came out in throngs to be with Najib,” he added.
