UM says no signs lecturer who 'sent nudes' still going to campus
Universiti Malaya (UM) refuted claims that a lecturer, who was interdicted for allegedly sending nude photographs of himself to students, has been entering its campus in Kuala Lumpur.

“UM is aware of the complaint reported in the media that an interdicted lecturer is still entering campus.
“The university wishes to confirm that no instructions were issued to the lecturer to be present on campus by any faculty or department.
“Checks have also not found any evidence or witnesses that can confirm this,” it said.
The lecturer was also contacted to ensure he did not enter campus during the interdictment period, it said.
“UM always ensures the safety of all parties on campus, especially students,” the institution added.
‘He still shows up on campus’
This comes after a UM student told Malaysiakini yesterday that she is fearful as the lecturer allegedly entered campus despite his interdictment.
The student claimed the lecturer sent explicit materials to her, including nude photos and videos, via WhatsApp.
“He still shows up on campus, making me question the effectiveness of this interdiction. Is this the university’s way of covering things up?” she asked.
Last Monday (Dec 23), the university announced that the lecturer was interdicted and the action was taken under the Statutory Bodies (Discipline and Surcharge) Act 2000.
Under Section 45 of the Act, an officer may be interdicted from their duties (barred from coming to work) for up to two months pending investigation of a criminal offence or serious disciplinary offence.
An interdicted officer is entitled to full pay, while those interdicted due to criminal proceedings in court are entitled to only half pay, and those suspended shall receive no pay.
This maniac can be a dangerous character. Why is he not denying that he did not send the nude pics. Who would send pics to your students unless you are a maniac. UM authorities are indolent & hibernating on issue & waiting for more instructions. Minister is `donkeying`.
