Still in pre-historic Malaysia
Observations of developments in Malaysia in the past couple of years would surely give a person a bad case of stomach disorder.
From corruption to cronyism, blatant disregard for minority rights to ridiculing foreigners, the latest is racial conflict. Despite all the rhetoric and admonitions for calm, the turn of events is indeed heading for the worst. What decade is this? Or shall I question which planet where do we Malaysians think we live on?
The whole world is watching us yet we still behave as though we are living in the pre-historic ages. The developed nations are busy galloping further ahead in the technological chase while the developing ones are hastily trying to play catch-up. And where are we? Still stuck in some stubborn mode of self-denial and protection.
The whole world is laughing at us. The statements our politicians make belie their intention and intelligence. Yet we still rumble on. And next on the cards is racial conflict.
I sincerely hope that our new generation realise the foolishness of getting involved in these despicable acts. If we still live in the past, then I wonder when will we ever become developed, morally and psychologically.
