Where are you, our iron-willed leader?

I refer to the letter Lower the boats prepare to emigrate. What the writers say is very true of what is happening in Malaysia today. It will only be a matter of time before we see a vast number of the educated and those with the means emigrate to countries which can safely give them hope. Pigs have been the latest victims, one wonders who will it be next?
Now, droves of Indonesians, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Burmese, Pakistanis, Africans and now even the Middle Easterners are slowly trickling into the country and intermingling with the local population. Who knows, with the local women being so taken up by their looks, they will slowly settle down, marry and start asking for citizenship rights.
By the time we realise it, it will be too late. An entire Pan Asian Malaysian race will emerge which will be of the same religion but of different ethnic components. Whilst we may think that the soothsayers of Malaysia's future seem to be very pessimistic, the realities on the ground can be seen on a daily basis. Chinese and Indian Malaysians are slowly being made to feel that this is not our beloved land anymore.
With the budget every year being read from the same script, one wonders if they are really bothered about how the moneys are spent or how it is just squandered away by a rent-seeking few who seem very parasitic in nature. Now all of a sudden, public hospitals are going to begin charging for better medical care which in most countries is a basic human right and for which the state is duty-bound to provide.
Soon we will see many people who can't afford medical care just 'disappearing' from our sight. Preferring to choose the easy way out instead of making amends, the current government only increases the burden of the common folk. Can they then be blamed if they vent their anger?
One believes that we have come to a point of no return, unless and until an iron-willed person emerges as the leader of this country, we will see the same old story every year and the vast gap between the haves and have-nots becoming even wider with no hope of ever reducing.
