'Social contract' non-existent in Umno

What social contract is Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad talking about? The real feeling on the ground or what the majority of Malays are now thinking is that Mahathir is really saying "do not question the Umnoputra rights" and "do not jeopardise the Umnoputra's 'lucrative contracts'." There is no such thing as a "social contract" in Umno's vocabulary.
Most Malays remain poor while Umnoputras become richer and greedier.
It is disgusting how the numero uno person in the nation is preaching racial hatred to citizens. If he is really championing the Malay cause, why did he take away the Terengganu petroleum royalty, knowing very well that the majority of the people there are Malays? If he is really sincere, why take the Tabung Haji funds, of which almost 100 percent comprise Bumiputra funds, to save the Umnoputra cronies' companies?
As if the prime minister's contradictory statements are not enough, there are parrots lining up to join him on the bandwagon. One day, it was Dr Rais Yatim and Hishammuddin Hussein, and the next day, Suhaimi Ibrahim of GPMS, all singing to the tune of their boss. Shame on all of you.
Look at Kelantan; just because Umno is not the elected government in Kelantan, the federal government neglected this state. If all these parrots championing the Malay cause want to be a real Malay hero, I suggest they spend a few days with the Malay kampung folk (yes, your own race and breed) in Kelantan and see how they are struggling to feed their family.
If Mahathir thinks that the Malays would rally behind him on this issue, he is dead wrong. We learnt our lessons very well; he let us down by taking the petroleum royalty away from Terengganu; he let us down by dragging a Malay and a Muslim in the mud via the media under his control. He has really broken our hearts, yes, our Malay hearts, not once but many times. Enough is enough.
I am glad that the Chinese are now learning their lesson. Thank you, Prime Minister; you have finally convinced the majority of the Malays and the Chinese of the viability of an alternative government come 2004.
To our Chinese friends and all other races out there, be with the majority of the Malays, let us unite and rebuild this nation. The winds of change have finally come. Thank you again, Prime Minister; you are turning it into a reality.
