Our Works Minister must first prove that he is not beyond reproach. Whenever any public works are been carried out, what is the level of satisfaction that the public expects? For the amount of money paid out from the coffers of the government (from taxes collected); it is the duty of the Works Ministry to adopt standards and compliances which all contractors must abide by. No point in identifying causes when incidents like the above happen.

Look at the partially completed road works from Sungei Buloh to Sri Damansara in Selangor. At peak hours, the trip from Sri Damansara to Sungei Buloh near to the KTM station will be clogged with traffic backed-up. After so much money and time, all the 'rakyat' gets is traffic jams and more traffic jams.

The contractor just stopped short of finishing the job but we already see potholes just beneath the ramp heading towards The Store shopping complex. Accidents have happened. When it rains, ponds take shape. These is a hazard to all traffic.

Look at the road leading from Matang Pagar to Taman Sri Putra. The road condition is so bad that I have to send my car for alignment almost every month. The number of road humps there is truly absurd. They are too high. Lorries plying this route are also damaging tthis raod as it was not built for such weights.

Contractors appointed by the government to put up traffic lights or replacing power cables are the biggest culprits for road damage. After laying the cables, the road are not well resurfaced. This has caused the road conditions to deteriorate resulting in many motorcyclists falling due to the potholes.

Taxpayers money must be utilised well. Mr Works Minister, please do not point fingers. Get down to the ground where contractors are doing their jobs. See for yourselves the 'before and after'. Having been the Works Minister for donkey's years, issues like this should have been addressed from the start. It seems to us that you are just learning. What have you been doing all this while, my dear Works Minister?
