I refer to the Malaysiakini letter Indonesia, please accept our apologies.

The letter writer would like to apologise on behalf of Malaysia for the assault by four Malaysian policemen on a visiting Indonesian karate referee recently. While that is a noble deed, I would like to point out that his apology will cut no ice with the Indonesian authorities as the culprits responsible are our so-called 'law-enforcers' who acted like thugs.

The IGP has offered his profound regrets and apologies but they will sound hollow if no follow-up action is taken with regards to punishing the culprits. Until then, the Indonesians cannot accept any apology wholeheartedly.

To date, we have not heard or read of any report of the results of any investigations (if any) on this case.

If Malaysia is keen to settle this issue, the case would have been investigated and a report already made for further action. The longer this case is allowed to drag on, the longer the anger be allowed to seethe.
