DAP vice-chairperson Teresa Kok has expressed serious concern over reports of proposed amendments to the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
According to statements from multiple media organisations, the Home Ministry’s proposed changes could increase media oversight and penalties, including reinstating the requirement for media licence renewals, expanding the definition of “publications,” and imposing harsher criminal penalties.
