The scandal where assemblypersons were allegedly caught on camera discussing bribes has been confirmed to have occurred in Sabah.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, however, indicated that the whistleblower in the case would not be automatically entitled to protection.
This is as the whistleblower is - by his own admission - the bribe giver.

Rep dismisses audio as 'AI'
On Monday, Malaysiakini released a 17-second audio clip in which an assemblyperson is allegedly heard discussing with the whistleblower whether or not he can return RM500,000 in alleged bribes given to him in instalments.
The politician was not identified.
However, Sindumin assemblyperson Yusof Yacob later emerged dismissing the clip as an AI fabrication.

King slams UPNM bullying
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has decried bullying cases at the Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) as inhumane.
This is after news emerged that another cadet had been bullied, to the point of suffering a fractured spine.
The Defence Ministry said it is taking extra measures to prevent abuse and bullying incidents among cadets, and warned that bullies would be expelled and forced to repay their scholarships.
