'Non-citizen' message a glitch on MyJPJ app, problem resolved: RTD
The Road Transport Department (RTD) said they have resolved a “system glitch” in the MyJPJ smartphone application, which caused some Malaysian users to receive a message saying they are non-citizens.
In a statement, RTD director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said they have taken immediate action to fix the problem, which affected users who were checking for their eligibility for a driving licence transition programme.

“Driving licence holders for Class B2/B1 who previously received such a message (when checking for their eligibility) are advised to log out from the MyJPJ application and log in again before checking for their eligibility status for the programme.
“RTD appreciates all the feedback from the public with regard to our Special Malaysian Driving Licence Transition Programme from Class B2/B1 to Class B (high-powered motorcycles), and is always committed to improving our services to the rakyat,” he said.
On Tuesday, the RTD announced an update for MyJPJ after seeing a high demand for online eligibility checks after the addition of the special driving licence transition programme.
However, some B2/B1 (small motorcycle) licence holders encountered a problem to enrol in the programme as the RTD app rejected them, saying that the transition is only available for Malaysian citizens.
Among them was United for the Rights of Malaysians Party (Urimai) interim deputy chairperson David Marshel, who took Transport Minister Anthony Loke and RTD to task over the “irresponsible and disappointing” message.
