BN in denial

The post-election headlines made by the BN leaders show a chronic denial syndrome much worse than after the last general elections.
'Nine days too short a time to counter the opposition lies'. For the sentence to be uttered by the deputy prime minister of the government that controls more than 10 daily newspapers in all major languages and four nationwide TV networks is so pathetic.
The answer is, DPM, you cannot refute truth even given 300 days. One message that is loud and clear is that the people don't believe news presented in the government-controlled print and electronic media anymore. And they want changes. (Incidentally, I wonder why the May 13 riot footing was not shown in the last two weeks of the campaigning period in Lunas, as has been opportunistically done on previous occasions.)
'Police sided with the opposition'. 'Opposition supporters manhandled our supporters and the police just watched'.'The same police force who beat up the peaceful demonstrators on Kesas highway earlier in the month? Give me a break.
'Opposition phantom voters'. Now this is news.
If all these allegations are true, then the BN is really in a big trouble. More than 60 percent of the military votes went to BA in Teluk Kemang by-election. Now, it seems, the police are siding with the opposition in Lunas, the Election Commission are inserting phantom voters for the opposition in the electoral roll and about 60 percent of the Chinese votes and 30 percent of the Indian votes went to the Malay candidate who, it has been accused in the said media, "preached racial hatred and religious sentiments".
Isn't it time the BN do some soul searching instead of whining around like a lost child? Take heed from the wisdom of Dr Ling Liong Sik when he was quoted in the Sun that there should not be any finger pointing. And if this denial syndrome persists in BN, it will find itself alienated more and more from reality and the populace.
S Samy Vellu showed nothing but his ego and arrogance. He not only eclipsed Syed Razak as the BN election director, he is acting as a PM himself, setting up the works ministry in Lunas and directing the director-general of the public works department to be in Lunas? He is acting as if it is a do-or-die situation for MIC and himself.
The outstation plates of the Mercs, BMW and 4WDs camping in Lunas where padi planters, estate workers and small-time kopitiam owners live show how much disrespect these people have for the Lunas residents. And at the end of the day, all will go back to five-star hotels in Butterworth.
The message they bring is just that: Vote us so that we can continue to live in luxury and every five years we will bring you all rice, kain pelikat and ... If you are lucky, your rep will pass away in mid-term, and in that case, we will spend RM21 million in nine days to develop your area.
