PAS MUKTAMAR | PAS Youth passed a motion today calling Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to resign or be removed from office as soon as possible.
Tambun PAS Youth delegate Abdul Abidi Mohd Maznan brought and presented the motion before it was debated and unanimously approved.
Tabling the motion, Abidi said it was to ensure the people’s well-being and prosperity, adding that the country needed new leaders who are truly competent and accountable to solve the people’s issues.
He explained that Anwar had two years to implement the policies and promises he had long championed.
“However, so far, one by one, these sweet promises have been broken. Not only that, PMX’s (10th prime minister) leadership has never tried to be mature and responsible.
“The hypocrisy in governance and the refusal to take responsibility for the country’s economic problems have made the public increasingly frustrated with PMX’s administration,” he said at the 65th PAS Youth muktamar in Kerdau, Temerloh, today.
Abidi (above) also laid out four reasons that formed the basis of the motion.
The first, he said, was Anwar’s failure to fulfil the promises he made during the last general election campaign.
“Secondly, PMX’s failure to eradicate corruption and, instead, appointing corrupt individuals to key positions.
“Thirdly, his failure to address the rising cost of living that burdens the people daily, and lastly, the oppression of opposition representatives by denying them allocations,” he elaborated.

PAS Youth delegate from Pokok Sena, Hamadah Syauqi, later supported the motion urging Anwar to step down immediately.
“We will give him time, dear youth chief. If in a month he doesn’t step down, in two months he doesn’t step down, in a year he doesn’t step down, we will lead a people’s uprising and take to the streets,” he said.
In addition, other motions passed during the annual general assembly included a proposal to incorporate the history of Palestine into the education syllabus under PAS.
PAS Youth also accepted an emergency motion condemning DAP’s interference in Muslim affairs, which was then unanimously approved.
